1935 Henry Griffith & Sons 9ct Gold Engraved Hinged Bangle

A graceful sweep of 1930s Birmingham craftsmanship, this hinged bangle pairs the glow of polished gold with an exuberant panel of floral and foliate scroll engraving. The contrast between its richly decorated and plain halves gives the design a wonderfully poised character.

Crafted in 9ct gold, the bangle is hallmarked Birmingham 1935 and bears the H.G&S maker’s mark for Henry Griffith & Sons. Henry Griffith established the firm in Birmingham in 1850. From its beginnings in Warstone Lane in the Jewellery Quarter, the company expanded in the 1920s to a large manufacturing facility in Leamington Spa.

The bangle is hinged, secured by its clasp and fitted with a safety chain. It weighs 27.07 grams.
