Probably French late 1800 and delicate with a bird on top. I shall add photos of the locket at the back soon! I have it on a seed pearl necklace that matches its seed pearls.
Did you know seed pearls are less than 2mm in diameter. They come from a variety of oysters and fresh water mussels from around the world and been for used centuries. Queen Victoria had dresses embroidered with seed pearls on the bodice.
